Welcome to Spring Farm Cottage in the heart of the Peak District

Spring Farm CottageELTON, a stone-built Peakland Village, stands within the boundaries of the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire and dates back to the 17th Century.  It is an ideal base to explore the Peak Park, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell (puddings!), Buxton and Castleton (for its caves and caverns).

Parts of the Spring Farm Cottage date back over 250 years but it has all the mod cons, having been re-furbished in 2002/2005: double glazing, gas central heating (combi. boiler so plenty of hot water).

The nearest shop is in Winster but both Matlock and Bakewell have Supermarkets  / Chemists and lots of places to eat.

Enter the Cottage through the front porch and into the large beamed sitting room with TV, DVD & Video player / music centre and a real open fire for those cosy nights in. Move into the large kitchen/dinner with a gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and high chair. The outer hall is the perfect place to leave muddy boots and access the Courtyard where you can find logs/coal and a lockable shed with the BBQ equipment and room to store bikes.  Upstairs leads to two well-proportioned bedrooms with TV, a double with a cot  and a twin room with outstanding views of the rocks at Robin Hood Stride and beyond. We have a new enclosed garden at the  back  of the cottage, this backs on to open farm land, a place to sit and enjoy the view.

For the Kids: Next to the Cottage is a new children's play area and playing fields.  We have lots of Children's video's, play box and bath toys. In Bakewell there is a recently built swimming pool (family fun sessions Saturday mornings).  We recommend Chatsworth Adventure Playground / Farm, 'Gullivers Kingdom' / Cable Cars at Matlock and 'The Tramway Museum' at Crich just up the road.  For older kids/adults alike, Alton Towers approx. 45min drive, the other side of Ashbourne.

All linen, gas, electric is included in the price.

Fuel for the open fire costs £16.00 for a sack of logs and a bag of coal (payable with the rent)

We would ask our guests not to smoke in the Cottage.

Small well-behaved dogs/cats by agreement.  £20.00 supplement.

Sleeps 4 + baby
